Directed by Mamie Green, Volta fuses physicality, theatricality & multidisciplinary approaches to performance. Green’s work lives across a variety of artistic mediums to engage diverse audiences and break the boundaries of contemporary dance. Green has performed and taught across the US, Europe, and the UK and is the recipient of grants from the German Consulate General, the US Embassy, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, Community Engagement, and more.
Named in Fjord Review’s Best of Dance 2023, Volta has been commissioned and presented at the Laguna Art Museum, Jeffrey Deitch, MAXXI National Museum, East Miami Hotel, Brand Library, Neutra House VDL, Loyola Marymount University, Museum of Neon Art, and Brooklyn Center Theatre Research, among others, with upcoming engagements at MAK Center at the Schindler House, New Hollywood Theater, the Ace Hotel New York, and Skirball Cultural Center.
